Fuerteventura Resorts & Hotels

Fuerteventura is generally regarded as the oldest of all the Canaries and its strange contours come from various volcanic episodes. The last eruption occurred around 7,000 years ago so you're pretty safe.

With three thousand hours of sunshine a year, Fuerteventura is the closest Canary Island to the African coast with only 100km separating the 'Punta de la Entallada' from Cape Juby in Morroco and is the second largest (after Tenerife) of all the islands. Fuerteventura is blessed with over 150 beaches and one of the least spoiled and the least discovered of the Canary Islands. With a dramatic volcanic landscape, little rainfall and all year round warm temperatures, the desert landscape is unique and large areas of the island are protected parks.

Visit Fuerteventura and you are stepping back to the way of Spain 30 years ago no high rise buildings with a relaxed and gentle way of life, clean streets and beaches. Unlike its more touristic and built-up neighbours of Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura is a place to come to relax, unwind and step back in time.
Antigua church Antigua is one of the oldest villages on the Fuerteventura island. Built in the 18th century Antigua was once the capital of Fuerteventura.  Though a fairly sleepy village, Antigua has a few social facilities for the local people such as a school, library, post office and a clinic. Population of Antigua is approx 3000 with an area of about 250 sq.km.
Jandia the south of Fuerteventura Fuerteventura has some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe. From the Corralejo glistning sand dunes in the north to miles of flat beaches in Jandia the south of Fuerteventura. This makes Fuerteventura an ideal destination for all beach lovers.

There are two main Theme Park attractions in Fuerteventura - The Baku Water Park in Corralejo and the Oasis Park Zoo in La Lajita.

Baku Water Park - Corralejo
As well as being a Water Park, the Baku Village has Ten Pin Bowling, Crazy Golf, a Driving Range, Restaurants and Shops. The rides and facilities in this Water Park are very modern.

Oasis Park - La Lajita
Oasis Park is a Zoo and Botanical Gardens in the south of Fuerteventura.
The Zoo features over 200 species including Alligators, Monkeys, Giraffes, Zebras and Birds. The 200,000 Square meters of Botanical Gardens, which feature many Endemic Species and Cacti, can be enjoyed from the back of a Camel.
